WHAT WAS THE PROBLEM?
Our OEM partner needed a hand to uphold quality and performance standards.
We were there to guide them through, ensuring smooth sailing ahead.
OUR PLAN:
- We targeted key quality issues and made sure our shop floor is organized efficiently.
- We set standard quality measures and made sure our logistics are aligned with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- We kept track of how well our short-term actions are working with transparent reporting.
- We tackled specific challenges, like reducing noise at NedCar, dealing with contamination at Tier 1 [RO-IT], and making workplaces better at Tier 1 [MKD].
THE RESULTS:
- 85% fewer quality issues in Q2 compared to Q1, with defects reduced from 994 to 138.
- Almost 90% fewer problems with short-circuits and metal chips, dropping from 68 defects in Q1 to just 4 in Q2.
- No noise or short-strip issues in Q2.
- About 83% fewer “RED” alerts, leading to smoother operations from March-April to May-June.
